TIME IS MONEY

“I just wanna Rolly Rolly Rolly with a dab of ranch”. You know where this is going. Rolex's journey began with the creation of the first waterproof wristwatch, the Oyster, by founder Hans Wilsdorf, and has evolved int
o a collection of watches that have become watchmaking classics. The entrepreneur began with nothing, but he possessed vital traits such as vision, optimism for the future, tenacity, and an exceptional capacity to work. At the age of 12, he is an orphan with nothing except his resolve to help him overcome obstacles.

Later the same year, in 1905, Hans Wilsdorf established his own business with the financial assistance of his brother-in-law, Alfred Davis. They closed their London office in 1919 because the English government levied significant taxes on them. The massive levies were imposed as a result of World War I. As a result, Rolex relocated its international headquarters to Geneva, Switzerland, where it is now based.

While swimming across the English Channel in 1927, Hans Wilsdorf personally presented a Rolex Oyster watch to Mercedes Gleitze, an Englishwoman.

Later, Rolex ran full-page advertising on the top page of the Daily Mail mentioning this achievement. Rolex touts its timepieces as the ideal companion on land or on the water.

Rolex's production resources include a diverse set of talents and knowledge. From the design through the manufacture of the watches, watchmakers, engineers, designers, and other professionals collaborate closely. Rolex's organizational culture is founded on human values, which place competence and soft skills at the center of the brand's many operations. Rolex has its own specialized Training Centre to ensure the brand's competence continues into the future. The center, based in Geneva, is dedicated to pursuing excellence and developing its personnel. It gives training to staff and trains apprentices. The corporation wishes to pass on pride in its abilities and mastery of information to future generations. The globe was also a living laboratory for Hans Wilsdorf. Rolex put their timepieces through rigorous testing in the 1930s. Explorers put them in some of the harshest circumstances in the world's most inhospitable locations. However, over time, these excursions brought to light the fragility of the planet's ecosystems and the importance of preserving them. Rolex, therefore, provided its full backing to the explorers who went on to become environmental pioneers.

Hans Wilsdorf intended to rename the Wilsdorf and Davis firm with a new five-letter term, therefore he was looking for a new name, for which he attempted every conceivable combination of the letters of the alphabet. This resulted in hundreds of names, but none convinced him.

And one lovely morning in London, Hans Wilsdorf was traveling on the upper deck of a horse-drawn omnibus when a genie whispered Rolex in his ear.

Rolex is ranked 78th on Forbes' global ranking of the most valuable brands, with a brand value of $9.1 billion USD.

By the year 2000, Rolex had succeeded in producing all of its timepieces in-house in Switzerland. They also have their own gold foundry on the property. The gold produced is later utilized in the production of watches.

A single Rolex watch takes a whole year to manufacture. This is one of the primary reasons for the watch's high price. Furthermore, all Rolex watches are handcrafted, and the company produces 800,000 timepieces every year. Robots are employed only to do a little work in the areas where robots can perform better than humans.
